Young Bětuška has no idea that her mother, Maxa the herbalist, practices witchcraft. Maxa's friends find it strange that pretty Bětuška has never fallen in love. They discover that her cautious mother protects her from young men with a branch of honeysuckle, so they steal it from under Bětuška's pillow.
